IbnSina Mindcrafters wants to allow all children regardless of creed, color and socio-economic background the opportunity to experience the thrill of creating code to overcome challenges. IbnSina Mindcrafters works with organizations to identify what sort of program would best suit their communities. IbnSina Mindcrafters provides training materials, robots and laptops on a loan basis to organizations. The organization needs to provide a venue, instructors and have a community of children that can sustain the program. If an organization can sustain the program then the materials (robotics, laptops) are transferred or sold to them after the loan period. To partner with IbnSina Mindcrafters organizations need to adhere to our values and also provide our services for no cost to the children.
IbnSina Mindcrafters is a registered Community Interest Company (C.I.C) operating in England and Wales (Company Number 11522726 on 17th August 2018). IbnSina Mindcrafters started teaching its first robotics curriculum in 2016 at the Islamic Center of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They expanded to other local organizations in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in Austin, Texas. In the summer of 2018 the management was relocated to the United Kingdom.
Organizations wanting to start a similar program would have to undertake a significant investment without any guarantee of creating an enduring program. IbnSina Mindcrafters works with organizations by lending them material resources so that they can jump start a program with little to no financial investment. We aim to keep the program free for all children by not charging organizations to partner with us. If the program becomes self-sustaining we can sell or gift resources. All organizations that work with IbnSina Mindcrafters or operate under its branding shall adhere to its mission, vision and values. Our goal is to make partner organizations become self sufficient within 3 years of initiating the program.
